Marty. There’s no way our Glorious Leader would publicly crow about that.? Especially when the experts like too remind us. How we got our pants pulled down over that deal.!

No RB . It's the rice fee . The club didn't spend it .

I would imagine that’s more to do with everybody having to show their numbers before a transfer window now.?

For a change. Even Sullivan isn't hiding behind club finances . The propaganda site last week was told the clubs turnover is around the £370m mark this season.

As well as En-Nesyri, I can also see Lopetegui going for one of his old trusted decent Keeper's Bono he brought to Sevilla, who's now plying his trade in the Saudi League as a decent back-up to Areola. He'll be 34yo, give him the chance to play in England and a wealth of experience that he'll bring, especially understanding from the off Lopetegui's methods and playing out from the back. Being an Ex Keeper himself I wouldn't be surprised to see him try and bring him here as Fabianskis backup replacement covering the next few years.

A guy coming into the club. “Insisting.” On certain players. Has really endeared him to our all seeing. All loving Chairman.?

We'll you're wrong about me. I won't be doing that, so unfortunately for you, you won't be able to say "I told you so" about me.

PS Lopetegui smell of poo.

Any managerial appointment is a punt, with this one I am hanging my hopes on Steidten being in agreement with the owners on Loppy being the best choice out of what was available. I also like that this bloke seems to have being in the Champions League as his benchmark for club football.

Re: Why does Lopetegui want West Ham? (The Athletic - video)
I know we need a massive rebuild, but if he's planning on bringing in his own players, Steidten will want his, and Sullivan will want a punt or 3 of his, then that's an awful lot of players coming in.

That's after Zaha joins on loan and Cresswell resigns his new contract. ;-)

Trundle, you come across as someone desperate to be able to say I told you so because you've made 100+ posts saying the same thing, like you want everyone to remember that you never wanted him.

Still, it must be nice to be Nicey.

Re: Why does Lopetegui want West Ham? (The Athletic - video)
Although just read this…

Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo and Wolves captain Max Kilman, who worked under Lopetegui at Molineux, are both high on the list of defensive targets.

Kalvin Phillips’ forgettable loan spell has next to no chance of becoming a permanent deal, while it is also implied that Danny Ings, Nayef Aguerd, Thilo Kehrer and Said Benrahma will be sold in the summer window.

And…

It was revealed back in February that Lopetegui has a list of four top La Liga stars which he has been presenting to prospective new clubs in interviews.

It was claimed the 57-year-old former Real Madrid and Sevilla boss is insisting on being backed for those players as a minimum requirement.

It has been exclusively revealed to Hammers News by a transfer insider with knowledge of Lopetegui’s targets that longstanding target Youssef En-Nesyri is that man.

I think exactly the same, sbbb.

Unfortunately Nagel takes any criticism of Lopetegui (who isn't even our manager yet) very personally.

If we have concerns, it automatically means we want the club to fail and him to be sacked, just because we can say "I told you so". Apparently.

Nagel 3:35 Wed May 8
Re: Why does Lopetegui want West Ham? (The Athletic - video)
I'm not bitter. I never wanted him as manager and said so several times.

Just tell me this. Who do you think we should have got in as manager, given that you'd apparently only consider someone who's done at least 4 years at a club? You've already ruled out Fonseca, who'd have been my first choice.

southbankbornnbred 3:31 Wed May 8
Re: Why does Lopetegui want West Ham? (The Athletic - video)
Nagel,

You sound bitter, mate. Why don't you just accept that people have different views about football, fella, and move on?

I'm unsure about Lopetegui - and give reasons for it. You say he managed at 3+ years for Seville. He was sacked eight league games into the new season in 2022. He got the job in the summer of 2019. So the "+" is doing a lot of work in your analysis!

Plus, his stint in Seville was around double his next longest period in club football. He spent ten games at Rayo, around 18 months at Porto, little more than three months at Madrid and half a season (playing wise) at Wolves.

By any analysis, most would agree he's hardly been a "long-term" manager anywhere - even by today's curtailed standards. And it's that lack of time to plan and build that concerns me, given the state of the squad he's about to inherit.

Besides, given that we've just let go a manager who was here for 4"+" years, I find it odd that our fans can't get their heads around a slightly longer timeframe.

I'm happy to give the guy a chance, because he will become our next manager. But you seem a bit desperate to defend his, frankly, bang average record.

Re: Why does Lopetegui want West Ham? (The Athletic - video)
Trundle you're the one who needs to calm down, mate. You've already turned into the new Nicey. It's embarrassing.

Try sticking on your glasses and you can see that sbbb literally said it was the reason he wasn't sure about Lopetegui.

"Seems like a massive rebuild job (which is why I wasn't sure about Lope: he's never been a long-term manager anywhere)."
